What is a teen facial?

A teen facial is a lighter version of the Acne Clarifying Facial, built for skin that is oily, congested and changing fast. It clears blackheads and clogged pores with gentle extractions, calms active spots, and, most importantly, teaches a simple routine: what to use, what to stop using, and why picking makes it worse.

Anna keeps it to 45 minutes and keeps the products simple. Teenage skin usually doesn't need strong actives; it needs the right cleanser, a non-clogging moisturizer, SPF and consistency. She writes the routine down and explains it to the teen, not just to the parent.

A parent or guardian gives consent at booking and comes to the first appointment. After that, teens 16 and up can come alone with consent on file.

Who the teen facial is for

  • Ages 13 to 19 with breakouts, blackheads or oily skin
  • Congestion on the forehead, nose and chin
  • Teens who have tried drugstore products with no result
  • Skin irritated by over-washing or harsh acne products
  • A first facial, with no pressure and no upselling

Not recommended if

  • Severe or cystic acne that needs a dermatologist first; Anna will say so honestly
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) currently or in the last 6 months
  • Active cold sores or a skin infection
  • No parent or guardian consent

What to expect during a teen facial in Burbank

  1. Skin check. Anna looks at the skin and asks what's being used at home. Parent can sit in.
  2. Cleanse and steam. Double cleanse, then steam to soften the pores.
  3. Gentle extractions. Blackheads and clogged pores cleared carefully; nothing forced.
  4. Calm. A soothing mask, then a light moisturizer and SPF.
  5. The routine. A written morning and night routine, explained to the teen in plain terms.

What age is the teen facial for?
13 to 19. Younger with a consultation first.
Does a parent need to be there?
Yes for the first visit, and consent is on file after that. Teens 16 and up can come alone once consent is recorded.
Will it fix my teenager's acne in one session?
It clears congestion in one session. Ongoing breakouts need the home routine and usually a monthly visit for a few months.
Is it different from the adult acne facial?
Shorter, gentler, no peel, and the emphasis is on teaching the routine. When the skin needs more, Anna moves them to the Acne Clarifying Facial.
Do we have to buy products?
No. Anna writes down what works and often it's drugstore. You decide.
What if the acne is severe?
Anna will say so and recommend a dermatologist. Facials can run alongside medical treatment, but they don't replace it.
