A back facial is the Acne Clarifying Facial applied to the back and shoulders. The skin there is thicker, oilier and harder to clean, and it sits under sweat, backpacks and sports bras all day, which is why back acne is so common and so stubborn. You also can't see or reach it, so it rarely gets proper care.

At NewskinLA the treatment starts with a cleanse and steam, then exfoliation strong enough for thicker skin, extractions where pores are clogged, and a calming mask. Depending on the skin, a body peel can be added the same day to work on the marks left behind.

Why do I get acne on my back?
Thicker, oilier skin plus sweat, friction from straps and clothing, and no way to clean it properly. It's mechanical as much as hormonal, which is why cleansing and extractions work so well.
How many sessions will I need?
One clears congestion. For ongoing breakouts, monthly for 3 months, then maintenance. Series pricing is below.
Does it hurt?
Extractions on the back feel like pressure, less than on the face. The steam and mask are relaxing.
Can I add a peel?
Yes. A body peel the same day works on post-acne marks once the congestion is cleared.
What should I wear?
