What is DMK enzyme therapy?

DMK Enzyme Therapy is a paramedical treatment built around a mask that sets firm on the skin and works from underneath. As it tightens, it creates a pulsing action that pushes fresh, oxygenated blood into the skin and pulls waste out through the lymphatic system. The result is skin that is more oxygenated, firmer and better at repairing itself.

TIt is different from a standard facial because it treats how the skin works rather than just the surface. That is why it suits such a wide range of concerns: acne that keeps returning, skin that looks tired and sluggish, loss of firmness, pigmentation, and skin recovering after peels.

Anna is a DMK MD certified provider, trained in DMK's MD-level protocols, so she can combine the enzyme mask with DMK's stronger peels and home care. If you booked this before as the DMK Skin Revision Facial or DMK MD Non-Surgical Face Lift, it's the same treatment.

Who DMK enzyme therapy is for

  • Acne-prone skin that facials alone haven't fixed
  • Dull, sluggish, tired-looking skin
  • Loss of firmness and early aging, roughly ages 25 to 60
  • Pigmentation and uneven tone
  • Rosacea and sensitive skin, with a modified protocol
  • Skin recovering between peels

‍

Not recommended if

  • Open wounds or active cold sores
  • A peel, microneedling or laser in the last 2 weeks
  • Pregnancy: tell Anna; some DMK actives are adjusted
  • Severe claustrophobia: the mask sets firm and tight for about 45 minutes, which some people find intense
  • Isotretinoin in the last 6 months

What to expect during DMK enzyme therapy in Burbank

  1. Consultation. Anna checks your skin and chooses the enzyme formula and any DMK actives to layer underneath.
  2. Cleanse and prep. Double cleanse, then DMK's pre-treatment actives for your concern.
  3. Enzyme mask. The mask is brushed on and left to set for about 45 minutes. It tightens hard and pulses; it feels strange, and it is meant to.
  4. Removal. Warm compresses lift the mask. Skin is pink and visibly plumped, with visible blood flow (the Plasmatic Effect) that fades within a couple of hours.
  5. Home care. DMK home products are recommended to hold the results; they are optional, but they matter.

DMK enzyme therapy FAQ

Why does the mask feel so tight?
That's the treatment. The enzyme mask sets firm and pulses as it dries, which is what pushes blood into the skin and pulls waste out. It's intense for about 45 minutes, then it's over.
What is the red pattern on my face afterward?
DMK calls it the Plasmatic Effect: your capillaries visibly dilated. It's the sign the treatment worked, and it fades within a couple of hours.
How many sessions do I need?
A series of 4 to 6, two weeks apart, is the DMK protocol. One session gives a glow; the series changes the skin. Series pricing is below.
Is it good for acne?
Yes. It treats the sluggish circulation and congestion that keeps acne coming back, and pairs well with the Acne Clarifying Facial.
What does DMK MD certified mean?
Anna has completed DMK's MD-level training, which covers the stronger peels and protocols beyond the standard enzyme treatment.
Do I have to buy DMK products?
No. Anna will tell you which ones make the biggest difference; the enzyme series still works without them, just for less time.
Is DMK the same as the DMK Skin Revision Facial?
Yes. The DMK Skin Revision Facial and DMK MD Non-Surgical Face Lift on the old menu are this treatment under different names.
