What is a microcurrent facial?

Microcurrent uses a very low electrical current, close to the body's own, delivered through two probes that move across the face and neck. The current stimulates the facial muscles so they contract and re-educate, which lifts the brows, cheeks and jawline, and it boosts ATP in the skin cells, which improves tone.

At NewskinLA the microcurrent pass comes after a cleanse and a conductive gel, and finishes with a hydrating mask. You can see the difference in the mirror after the first session, usually more on one side if Anna shows you the halfway point. The lift is temporary at first and builds with a series.

This is the treatment to book before an event or as a program for firmness. It isn't for acne or texture; those are other pages.

What to expect during a microcurrent facial in Burbank

  1. Cleanse and prep. Double cleanse, then a conductive gel across the face and neck.
  2. Microcurrent. Two probes glide along the muscles in lifting strokes. You feel a light tingle or nothing at all; sometimes a flicker near the eyes.
  3. Halfway check. Anna can pause and show you one side lifted against the other.
  4. Mask and serum. A hydrating mask, then serum and SPF.

Does microcurrent hurt?
No. Most people feel a faint tingle or nothing. Near the eyes you may see a brief flicker of light, which is normal.
How long does the lift last?
After one session, 2 to 3 days. After a series of 6, weeks to months with monthly maintenance.
Is it like a facelift?
No. It tones the muscles under the skin, so it lifts and sharpens contours. It doesn't remove skin or change bone.
Can I get it if I've had Botox or fillers?
Wait 2 weeks after either. Tell Anna what you've had and when.
Who can't have it?
Anyone with a pacemaker, epilepsy, metal implants in the head, or who is pregnant.
Can I combine it with other facials?
Yes. It's often added to the DMK or Salmon DNA facial for firmness plus repair.
