Acne facial FAQ

How does an acne clarifying facial clear my skin?
Extractions remove what is clogging the pores, the exfoliation and mask calm inflammation, and the home routine keeps new congestion from forming. It treats the causes you can see, not just the spots.
Is there any downtime?
Some redness for a few hours. Most clients book on a normal workday and go straight back.
How many sessions will I need?
Congestion usually improves after one. For active acne, plan on a series of 3 to 6 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4 to 6 weeks. Packages of 3 and 6 are discounted.
Is it safe for sensitive or reactive skin?
Yes. The exfoliant, mask and products are chosen on the day for your tolerance, and the peel add-on is skipped if your skin isn't ready for it.
Will I break out after the facial?
A small purge in the days after extractions can happen as the skin clears what was already forming. It settles within a few days. Anna will tell you what to expect for your skin.
How should I prepare?
Stop acids, retinol and scrubs 3 days before. No waxing, sugaring or shaving the area for 48 hours. Come in without makeup if you can.
I've tried dermatologist prescriptions and they didn't work. Can this help?
Many clients come after medication alone didn't clear their skin. A facial treats the pores and the surface directly and fixes the routine around it. If your acne needs medical treatment, Anna will tell you, and the facial can work alongside it. More on how acne is treated here.
